Some great images of the new upcoming turtle figures. Sculpts that I am looking forward to owning are the Metalhead, Leatherhead and Shredder figures.

One thing I am not a huge fan on is the original artwork on the backside of the Classic turtles. I feel like the market is now saturated with this image and companies like Spencers and Hot Topic have created this shitty looking standard of how to use the turtles and it is always using that really "Cartoony" way of portraying them. It is fine since they are the classics, but i always groan when i see this style used.

All in all- very satisfied with the work and I think that Nickelodeon is really doing it right so far.

Prometheus Poster Dissect

Okay so now "Prometheus" is on my brain because it is very likely it is a prequel to the original "Alien" now that i have watched the trailer. You clearly see the Space Jockey emerge from the floor half way through the trailer and some semblance of the rows of eggs in a chamber. Yup...likely to be prequel!

This now has taken priority over all other movies...Avengers, Batman.

I naturally am dissecting everything now including the movie poster. On further look at this art and copy this is my thought on why humans are exploring space and why they find what they find on LV-426. In the poster you can see a cement sculpt of a human head and with the copy line "The search for our beginning, could lead to our end.

My thought is that the reason they have that image is that it is a mayan visual que. Meaning that humans are looking or discovered that Aliens came down to earth and they are following possibly a beacon they discovered on earth that is leading them to Alien homeworld or LV-426 and are discovering why there is such intricate structures in Mayan culture.

I don't know, might be reaching. I am just trying to explain why there is a stone head in there and why that is so important playing with the copy. I don't know.

Stay Puft Miracle

Today I went to GoodWill and a true 100% miracle occurred that has left many questions in my mind. During Comic Con this year there was a particular item that I was amping up to purchase...The Stay Puft Marshmallow Man + Diorama. This guy stands about 3 ft tall and is huge! Well, when at Comic Con I waited in line numerous times and to all no avail. They would say that they would have more coming out the next day and that I should check back early in the morning. Well, needless to say I came back with no Stay Puft this year. I cut my loses and decided to part ways with this item and not look back, since he was selling on ebay for about 80.00 plus 30.00 s+h, which is way to expensive.

Today then lo and behold there he is looking out from behind the glass case of the Live Auction at Goodwill in Woodbury. Long story short I won him for $40.00.

Now my big question is this...Where did he come from? Who's was he? Why would they not have done something different with him than donate him to Goodwill? Is this a miracle from above? Fate/Destiny....what?????

It all was way to cosmic and strange for me and I just don't want to dwell on it to much since I am more than ecstatic that I got him. But, it does make you wonder just what the hell happened here. Because for those of you that don't know about this Marshmallow Man. He came out Exclusively for Comic Con this year and was very limited online ordering as well. We are talking that he has not been on the market for more than 2.5 months. I just don't know what happened, but am glad that he has been rescued by someone that will care for him dearly. Pretty good day and find today at a little place i like to call GoodWill.

Super Nintendo Turns 20 today.

Nintendo released the Super Nintendo Entertainment System ("Super NES" or "SNES" for short) 20 years ago this week — way back in 1991.

As a devotee of the NES at the time, I wasn't quite sure what to make of the Super NES when it came on the market. It's funny, but I didn't expect it at all. You'll have to keep in mind I was only 10 years old and my video game market knowledge was limited to what Nintendo Power told me. When I first saw a preview of the Super Famicom hardware (the Japanese Super NES) in Nintendo Power, I thought "why?" Wasn't the NES good enough?

I ended up getting a used Super NES in 1992 (in a set with Mario Paint), and I enjoyed it quite a bit. But it never felt the same as my NES (in retrospect, this was probably due to simply growing up), and I soon grew jaded by the general software offerings for the system.

Sure, I kept up with hits like Zelda: A Link to the Past, Super Mario Kart,Super Metroid, and Donkey Kong Country, but it felt like every third-party title in between paled in quality compared to Nintendo's offerings. That trend continues to this day on Nintendo consoles.

Wow...i feel old. I bought this in store.

My title is decieving. It is not the "Actual" eve of Comic Con. Comic Con starts officially on Wednesday with Preview night which yours truly did not get tickets to attend. I unfortunately will have to play the race game in attempting to grab hold of this years hot items.. Giant Stay Puft Marshmallow Man and two Optimus Prime figures. There are a handful of other things that I am sure will catch my fancy but for now..those are the big ones I must get.

But yes, it is the eve on when i descend upon San Diego. I have packed, re-packed and triple checked everything. I have a survival kit this year which will help with the mid-day munchies, any small casualities, and even a extra three pronged outlet so i don't hog up an outlet that others may want to use to charge (smart i know!)

I have been washing clothes for two days now, packing bags all-day and printing off schedules. I think i am about ready. Tomorrow's depart time, are you ready for this...3:30 heading to the airport. Plane actually leaves at 6:05 then into San Diego at 10:05. Gonna be an early morning but very well worth it. I better start to taper down now and relax, take my percocet (so i can sleep) and eat my dinner so i can go to bed. Cause 3:00am is gonna come awfully early. Have a good one readers...look forward to chatting more on the road. I will post pictures along the way. San Diego here I come!

Comic Con Countdown

Okay so there is one week till Comic Con festivities begin, not sure i can contain my excitement right now. I feel a greater sense of excitement this year than the last. I am not sure why. I have been watching online for the schedules/exclusives and of course the contests.

I feel like i am starting to admire the "process" that is Comic Con instead of plowing through the weeks just to get through to the actual event. I enjoy that you begin this process at least 6 months if not 8 months prior to the actual con itself.

It all begins with reserving your hotel. You must watch strategic Facebooks/Twitters/Websites for updates on when things will be released and when to log on to get your hotel/badges/pre-orders. You virtually wait in line with everyone else in the world that would like to attend this event and partake int the festivities. In a way you become kindred spirits without even knowing it. These people are your brothers and sisters in battle yet your enemies that you are fighting against for the best Hotel or to at least get a badge to enter the hallowed grounds of Comic Con.

This process of virtual waiting and getting all the necessary components to attend the Con then transitions into the actual planning and the gathering of information for the Schedules/Toy Exclusives and Events surrounding the Con. It really is a symphony of planning and strategically thinking about what your next step should ultimately be.

I am now in the planning process and figuring out what sort of Panels are going on and what is worth attending and what is not. It really is a fantastic journey. It is a journey that I might have to forfeit for the next couple of years. I think 3 years in a row is good and now might need to be put on hiatus for a couple of years just to get that Die-Hard THIRST back. I thirst for this event, but look forward to it's maturing and it becoming even bigger than what it currently is right now.

And with that, I leave you on....It's only 10 days away till the first day of CON!!!!!!! Cheers my devoted readers.

First up is the Transformers: Prime Optimus Prime figure; this is the one that was previewed a week or so ago. This figure comes packaged in a plastic blister pack shaped like the Matrix of Leadership – it even includes straps so you can wear it around your neck. Very cool, well…you know what I mean. This is not my photo, i will take my own professional photos of my packages when i have a chance. But this is the DVD set that I purchased on EBAY along with Beast Machines Complete series. This is now one of my best purchases made on the shopping website since they are almost completely pristine. I absolutely was ecstatic when i saw the condition of the DVD casing itself and then i open them up and find they are complete with the paper inserts and the casing is immaculate! It is like new car smell to me when stuff goes my way like that. I will absolutely be taking the utmost care of these DVD's! I want to pass these onto my children someday!

Very cool speaker last week. It was a toy designer who worked himself up and made his own company called Super 7. Long story short, i geeked out a bit and was in awe of how he took his love and passion for things like Godzilla and Star Wars (Old school awesomeness) and made it into an actual business.

The dudes on my team did me a huge solid...yes i say solid...and brought me back a figure that the designer had made and it is selling for some decent money on ebay when i checked. Very cool. I work with some awesome people.

I found the find that I had been looking for at the Goodwill and Thrift. This is exactly the reason I stop at these stores is to find stuff along these lines.

I walked in and immediately on an endcap I see this beauty eyeing me up basically saying "Hello, ready to take me home?" I saunterred up to him sitting on the top shelf, looking like some red beacon of hope. I look him over inspecting of course. Expecting to find pieces broken off of him or big kid marker drawing on his back coat. But none of the above. Hellboy was quite near perfect from what I could tell.

So I had previously been waiting to look at the price-tag to see how sadly priced he had been. And at first look the tag looked rather steep, $25.00. I think this took me aback since I had been so used to the 3.00 and 4.99 tags that I had seen and purchased so many times before.

I looked on the bottom base and found that it was a limited edition piece that had a remarkable resemblance to pieces i had bought from Sideshow Collectibles. I said, Fuck it! So i did a bit of a once-over of the store and became ever increasingly happy with my find. Went up to the register where this one stupid nerd cashier always see's me purchasing something equally nerdy and he says..."WHOA...HELLBOY...COOOOOLLL". I said, "Yup", thinking leave me alone q-bert. And i went home, immediately checking my purchase on eBay. Turns out I made the right buy. This bad boy racks up between $100-$300 on eBay/amazon. Yes ladies and gentleman, I am quite the bargainer and love doing it. It seems like I will always be on the lookout at these stores since finds like these make it very well worth it! Happy Hunting.

I don't know what it is but I
have NEVER photographed the awesome and extreme elegance of my Nintendo collection that I have hauled/harvested/harnessed and all around caretaken since the purchasing of each system. Here is a smattering of what I have in my possession which unveils a side of me that some might not quite know a whole lot about. I think it is a truly borderline OCD/hoarding mentality.

I have kept every box, plastic wrapper, game piece for all my Nintendo systems and continue to do so. I have my first Super Nintendo, first N64, first Gamecube and all gameboys i have ever owned. It pisses me off that I had the original Gameboy box as well but it was in an unfortunate accident two winters ago with a exploded lava lamp in the storage area in the garage. Needless to say it was soaked (luckily only the gameboy box was not the actual system...I'm not completely retarded and didn't keep the system out in the cold..psh!). Anyways, i threw these up on craigslist.....and yes you probably just gasped....but worry not my brave compadre, I will not sell unless some astronomical amount of money is thrown at it. I simply want to see what it might be worth to others and just go fishing a bit. I really don't want to lose the Super Nintendo or N64.

Just really surreal to know those have lived with me and made it through basically 20 odd years right alongside me. Makes me feel good that I keep things like that so long and that I take pride in keeping my things nice and not treating them like garbage. I do the same to my turtles...and my women....:) bwhwahahahahhaha. Awesome.

Here is a glimpse at my latest and greatest mission of attaining all SERIOUS collector pieces for the TMNT that come out from Sideshow Collectibles. They have finally created a Shredder comiquette which will be released this Thursday the 28th. I will just have to keep checking back for it that day and if memory serves correctly the time they usually release it is 5-6ish in the evening since that is 2-3ish California time. It is down to a science but my thought is that this guy is going to go faster than you can say Oroku Saki.
This truly is the first time ever that the Turtle universe has had Shredder be so prominent and his own seperate entitiy, aside from Action figures. So, the hardcore bad-guy fans are going to love getting this one since the actual four turtles have been featured every other time.

I am seriously crossing my fingers for a Splinter release now. I am thinking that they'll have to do that since they did the Mousers and now Shredder. It better damn well not be April. I could also see a Casey Jones in the near future or Foot Ninja. Woo-hoo! It's Turtle Time!

This here is pretty much my unattainable gloryland. I have been looking for this old school gaming tool called "Rob" the robot, which is an add-on to the game Gyromite. I don't really care nor did i ever play this game but the cool thing that appeals to me is that the popular game called Starfox incorporated this character into it's universe.

I always like when companies do that with their characters and don't try to slap it into your face. I found this Robot once perched up on an old school video rental store and could not for the life of me get the shop keep to sell it to me. It just sat on the shelf then and probably is still there in the town of Red Wing. /sigh. oh well it's old school awesome!

So here i sit tired as all get out and thinking to myself what better time than to do some ranting and raving and incoherent mummbling than right now!! By golly gee. So here goes.../big breathe.

Okay so in the past couple of months i have morphed into the thing that I have wanted to be for far to long. A full fledged art director! It seems like it has been such a long road getting to this place that I never thought it was going to happen, but it did. I have to say out loud to everyone reading this that I have no shame in saying that I DESERVE IT! :)

K, got that out of my system.

My home is kind of an up and down right now. On the upside it is my own pad that I am able to customize and do whatever the hell i want to do to it. On the other I am sandwiched in between a complete jack-ass, stoner, mannish she-devil who I strongly believe is on heroine or cocaine that lives upstairs. With her cat, which btw, I came home two days ago and it was sitting out on the little porch area (which is enclosed) and I am guessing it was out there all day with no water or food. The stupid idiot girl probably locked the stupid thing out of the house when she left and didn't realize that it had gotten out. Sooooooo, even though i had a bad interaction with her maybe a week prior, I being the good-hearted guy that I am took the little water dish that I had and put it out there for it till the bitch got home. So then she sheepishly knocked on my door when she got home and saw the water dish and told me did i do that and I said yes. And she had a big smile on that ugly stick beaten face of hers and said "thank you" in that Kathleen turner manly sounding voice. Icka. Even as i type this i hear her walking around and her cat doing that gallopping thing. Stupid!
So back to the sandwich part...then i am sandwiched by that upstairs and then in the basement there is extreme flooding going on which my idiot landlord is supposed to be dealing with. Yeah that isn't working to well. He came today while i was at work and knocked down the coal room wall. Yay for him. I don't care he is stupid.

Well off to bed, i am ready to pass out. I needed to get some of dat shit offa my shoulders. Goodnight Neverlandddddddd!

I am feeling kind of dumb right now with my Ebaying abilities. I don't know if i was drinking the night i purchased this thing or what but when i got the box on my front stoop this morning i was a bit pissed off.

I thought I was getting a GIANT donatello figure which is rare, but i additionally thought i got it at a great price. Wellllll...I then look back at the posting and it CLEARLY states it is a 10inch figure instead of the GIANT 13inch figure. Naturally i feel stupid because then i go even further at looking at the figure and it is made in China and not my Mirage studios in California. Sigh....guess this is a good example of why you should really take care on your purchases from Ebay. Good to know. I kinda stupid right now. Whaddya do.

Another Star Trek Series

A few years back, Star Trek fans got together to produce a series of new episodes featuring the continued adventures of the USS Enterprise and their five year mission. Star Trek: New Voyages, as they called it, featured decent production values and less-than-spectacular acting, but I had to hand it to them for trying. Of course, that series took far too long for them to produce in a timely manner. Now, it would seem someone else has taken it upon themselves to produce yet another fan series, Star Trek: Phoenix — this time opting for an original approach.

Rather than using established characters, the series takes place 42 years after Star Trek Nemesis. I’m not sure why they decided on such an arbitrary number, but seeing how it’s completely non-canon, I’m sure they’ll be able to have plenty of fun making up the timeline as they go along. The production values are seemingly higher than that of New Voyages – which is probably a good thing — and the acting is about as good as you should expect from a fan production. I was pretty iffy on Sony’s upcoming Spider-Man reboot, but recent photos from the set have started to thaw my frigid heart. Emma Stone is Gwen Stacy incarnate, and Andrew Garfield looks quite good as Peter Parker. But as Spider-Man? We had no idea until today, when Sony sent out a promotional still of Garfield in his battle-scarred Spidey getup. And hey, it looks pretty good. Some tantalizing tidbits: are those mechanical web-shooters I see on his wrists? Do those claw marks on the chest scream “Lizard” to anyone else? And how did they convince the Harlem Globetrotters to give them enough blue and red basketballs to construct the costume?

Wild Obesity

Dad and I were at the game the other night and we observed that on Weekend games there is an absurdly large amount of obese people there. We witnessed this lady having to be picked up by 4-5 EMT's because she was feeling sick or something...she was obese. Anyways we were laughing so hard cause on my right was a ginormous guy squishing me. And directly in front of us was two baby huey's! They were huge. So dad and I were laughing so hard cause he decides to take a picture of them together. I still laugh thinking about it. So, this photo is from him and his phone. Priceless!

WOW Subscription Cancelled

That is right people...I have cancelled my WOW subscription until i can get a faster more efficient computer that can keep up with the upgraded graphics. Just wasn't worth it anymore due to all the lag that was happening. Fear not though brave souls...Corribus and Tuskijin will return! For the Horde!

The last frickin statue I need to get. This one is my least favorite of all my statues and now he is going to be broken upon opening him and setting him up. I damn well figured. Frickin Leonardo.
